For over a decade, the company brought its productions to audiences across the world.

City Lights Entertainment proudly featured Béjart Ballet Lausanne in its past shows, celebrating the company's enduring impact on the dance world.

Béjart Ballet Lausanne, founded in 1987 by the visionary choreographer Maurice Béjart, emerged following the closure of his previous company, Ballet du XXe Siècle. Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, the company quickly established itself as a beacon of innovation in dance.

Béjart's choreographic style was renowned for its eclecticism, blending classical ballet with modern dance, theatre, and diverse cultural influences.

Peau d’Âne

With great delight, we captivated Parisian audiences through a remarkable series of performances. This was followed by a distinguished tour across France and the successful unveiling of new productions in Tokyo and Montreal.

Jacques Demy’s 1970 cult film Donkey Skin, starring Catherine Deneuve, returns to life on stage at the Théâtre Marigny, celebrating the venue’s grand reopening after five years.

Based on Charles Perrault’s fairy tale, the story follows a princess who flees her father’s disturbing proposal by disguising herself as a donkey skin. Directed by Emilio Sagi, the faithful adaptation features refined staging and standout performances from Claire Chazal as narrator and Marie-Agnès Gillot as the whimsical Red Queen.
